No Jumping!!!

Since it is was a nice day out today (mid 60's) and Laurie had the day off, we decided to work in the yard this morning.
We got the yard all raked and all of the patio furniture put away for the winter. The city should be by to pick up the leaves this week or next.

Most years we get the raking done and the city picks them up before the trees are even empty. Some years they are out picking them up in the snow.

We snapped a quick picture so we could remember what it looks like without leaves since it won't be that way for long. Our trees still have quite a bit of leaves left on them.

Bloomin' Tuesday!

These pictures were taken earlier in the year, but they are the only plants that we saved any seeds from.

They are Columbine and we didn't save very many seeds.

Once they start to grow, they will spread rapidly so you don't need too many seeds to start them.

Please leave a comment and E-mail us your address if you would like any seeds.

Be sure to visit Ms Green Thumb Jean to see more of Bloomin' Tuesday.

Happy Bloomin' Tuesday!

Apples!

Mom and I went to our local apple farm on Wednesday and bought all of the apples we needed to make homemade apple sauce. Click HERE to visit the apple farms website.
We came home with 1 bushel of Cortland apples, a peck of Crispin and a peck of Pippins for the apple sauce. Of course we came home with Cider and 1/2 peck each of apples just to snack on.

Today Mom, Tabatha, Jerzie and I made our apple sauce.

We usually use an apple peeler and corer, but the apples were either too big or too soft and we had trouble with the peeler. We had to do it the old fashioned way.

Here is a close up of the apple sauce after we added the sugar and cinnamon.

We always have a bowl of vanilla ice cream with the warm apple sauce poured over it.
Yum-O

Here is the finished product. This should last us for a little while.

Watery Wednesday!

Here are some pictures from our trip to Buttermilk Falls.
Buttermilk Falls is one of the most visited waterfalls in the Adirondacks. It is a short but beautiful falls (only 20 feet tall) that is reached by an extremely short, flat walk.

We thought this picture would give you an idea of the size of the rocks. Keep in mind that Chris is 6' tall.

Here is a short video we took. The sound from this short falls is extraordinary.

The last 2 pictures were taken just above the falls on the Raquette River.

Bloomin' Tuesday!

Chris took these pictures in the Adirondacks. We thought that the Coleus was so pretty against the fall trees.

We haven't planted Coleus before, but after seeing it we may have to give it a try.

Don't you just love the bright green?
