Bloomin' Tuesday!

Happy Bloomin' Tuesday to everyone!

Our Purple Coneflowers (Echinacea) have started blooming this week. We have taken pictures of them at several stages.

They add so much color to the garden.

Blue Jay!

We finally have a few Blue Jays at our feeders, but they are very hard to get pictures of. Every time I would get the camera to take a picture, it would put its butt in the air...

...or put its head down.

Finally, I got one.
I sat on the deck as still as I could and finally got this one!

I didn't realize how many different blues they had in their wings.

Bloomin' Tuesday!

We took these photos last night after dinner.

Please click on the pictures to enlarge them
Lilies are some of our favorite flowers to photograph.

The colors are always so bright and cheerful...

and there are so many different kinds.

We hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we do taking pictures of them.

Eagle Spotting! (for real this time)

We were on our way to Lowe's yesterday when I saw these 2 eagles about a quarter of a mile off the road. After Chris almost crashed the car because of my excited screaming, he turned around and pulled off the edge of the road.

Since there was an embankment and a barb wire fence, we didn't get very close. (I know we are bloggers and should have jumped the fence on to posted property)

I took quite a few pictures hoping something would turn out. Being that we were so far away, not many came out very clear.

We searched the area and the surrounding area last year because we heard that there were eagles nests around. We never did find them last year.

We went back today with our tripod to see if they were still there but didn't have any luck finding them again. Those of you that visit our blog often may remember 2 posts that we did back in April and May. A friend told us about 2 eagles he had been watching. They turned out to be Osprey. We got the real thing this time.

A Time Out Chair!

We took these pictures in the fall when we were in the Adirondacks. We were out in front of the Adirondack Museum.

We have visited the museum twice out of the 4 times we have gone to the Adirondacks. It took us the whole day to tour the museum each time we went.

There are countless informational exhibits that teach about the history of the Adirondacks.

Have any of you ever visited the museum?

Bloomin' Tuesday!

Happy Bloomin' Tuesday!

We took these Astilbe pictures this weekend after we finished mulching.

We have 3 different colors this year.

This is a mini-rose and a still bee.
(sorry, I couldn't help myself)

Our 4th Of July!

Can you guess what we did by looking at this picture?
Did I help Chris work on one of the cars?

Nope!
Chris went and got mulch on Friday.
They had just dyed it.
I actually did have gloves on and still ended up like this.

We paid more for our mulch this time than we have ever paid. Chris had them fill his 8 foot bed up. It was piled up to the roof of the truck. When he went to pay they said it was $80.00.

We worked in the yard for 6 hours yesterday.

We haven't had this dark of mulch before, but we really like it.

The green really stands out now.

We love the way the dark mulch makes the plants pop.

We have a little left over so we are going to add more to the gardens today.

We have more yard work we want to get done today too.

Grandma always said you shouldn't trim your bushes until after the 4th, so we have those to do.

After Chris trims those I'm sure he will mow so we can get the little pieces of the bushes cleaned up.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sorry we haven't been by to visit much.

Summer sure is a busy time.
