Sun and Rain!

The weather was very weird this weekend. One minute you would look out the window and the sun would be shining, then it would get as black as could be and just down pour.

We ran into a few bad storms on the way to see Dad and Sharon this weekend. A few times we couldn't even see out the window of the car. The whole time we visited with Dad and Sharon the sun was out, so we thought it would be a great ride home.
We were on the road for about 15 minutes and the sky opened again. We were almost to our exit and the sun started to come back out as it was raining. We pulled over to take a few pictures when we had the chance. Click HERE for an update on how Dad is doing.

Not His Favorite Job!

Since it was so nice out on Sunday, Chris decided it was a good day to clean out the gutters. He never likes doing this job but he has to do it at least twice a year. I am always nervous about him being up so high. I am afraid he will forget he is on the ladder if a bee comes too close to him. (he is allergic)

He always gets the leaves and yuck out, then he sprays them down with the hose to really clean them out. He did this to the front and back of the house and the garage.

When he was done, I took all of the bags he had down to Moms house for her to put in her composter. It is perfect stuff to help with the compost.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

We know that We don’t tell you so
As often as We should,
And We don’t often let you know
In little ways we could,
And yet we know you understand
(Somehow you always do!)
How very much you mean to us
And how much we love you.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Stop over HERE and wish Ms Green Thumb a Happy Birthday today!

Bloomin' Tuesday!

All of these pictures were taken at Roswell Park in the Kaminski Park & Gardens: Walk of Life and Gardens of Hope.

The Walk of Life is located adjacent to the Institute. This area offers you the opportunity to pay tribute to a beloved family member, friend, coworker or health care provider. The path is outlined with inscribed red bricks donated by patients and loved ones.

The park offers sanctuary for people to sit quietly, to read and reflect or to join family and friends in conversation.

Sorry, we aren't sure what most of the flowers are.

You should have smelled the scent coming from these Peonies. It was so sweet.

Jerzie and Mommy!!!

A week ago Friday, I got a text that Jerzie and Mommy were at the playground while Daddy was playing ball. They wondered if I would like to come over for a while. So I got the camera (of course) and headed to the playground.

I took some great pictures of Jerzie and her Mommy. I'm not sure who is having more fun Mommy or Jerzie. It looks like Jerzie might be :)

Don't you just love that grin?

Jerzie is talking Mommy into going down the slide with her.
Yep it worked. Mommy went down the slide with her.

" That's fun Mommy" is all Jerzie kept saying.

This last picture isn't great, but it has a story. Jerzie thought Mommy was closer than she was, and about gave Mommy and Aunt Laurie a heart attack. She thought she could jump from where she was. Thank God Mommy has good reflex's!!

Lily Pads!

On our way home from Roswell last weekend I asked Chris to please pull over so I could take some pictures of this pond we drive by all the time.

The sun wasn't in the best spot, but we got a few good pictures of the amazing pink lily pads.
The sound of the toads was so loud. I wish we could have just sat there and listened to them.

Since we were on a very busy road we didn't think that was a good idea.

Maybe next weekend the sun will be in the right spot when we drive through.

Softball!

I went to a softball game last night. My friend Chris "Milkman" (he works at Walmart in the dairy department so I call him Milkman) and my brother play on the same team. Milkman has been asking me to come to one of his games, so I finally went.

This is Milkman after he hit a double. A little out of breath from running so far!!
I had to take this picture so you could get a good look at his outfit!! I just love the socks Milkman!!!!

This is my brother Kim. He had a great game tonight. He hit 2 home runs!!!

Their team won 15-12!! I had a good time! I had forgotten how much fun it is to watch my brother play ball!!

Bloomin' Tuesday!

All of these pictures are of my climbing rose bush. It is doing really great so far this year.

It has outgrown the trellis already.

Hopefully it will keep blooming for a few more months.

Have You Ever?

We were out for a short walk last night when Laurie said "don't move". I thought there was a bee on me or something. Next thing I know, she had the camera out and was taking pictures of the weeds.

Can you see what she was taking pictures of???Is it a frog hanging in the weeds? We weren't sure what it was, but it had some pretty cool markings on it.
The body looked like a fluffy cotton ball. We were surprised that it didn't fly away with all of the pictures we took of it.
Click on any of the pictures to get a better view of the markings.
We found out on the web that it is a Luna Moth. There is a lot of interesting info on it HERE.

Bloomin' Tuesday!

LUPINE

These are all growing in our garden in our back yard. We just sprinkled seeds for most of the plants.

Our fence is over three feet tall. Look at how tall the Lupine grew this year.

We planted this yellow Lupine last year and also a red Lupine. We haven't seen any blooms on the red one yet, but the plant is growing back.
We love the bright colors against the white fence.
