We've Been Fishing!

The past two weekends we have been going fishing. It is so relaxing to us, and we really enjoy it.

We have caught a lot of these perch.

Here is my brother Kim. He is teaching Jerzie how to fish. She does a real good job reeling the fish in. She caught her first fish with daddy on April 20th. She was very excited about it. Her mommy video taped her.

This a picture of Chris. We fished for 6 hours straight this night. Every time one of us threw our line in the water, the other would be reeling a fish in. We caught so many fish that night. (50-60)

Jerzie went home, but Daddy was still using her fishing pole. Don't you just love the grin on Kim's face. Click HERE to see the huge fish he really did catch on opening day of trout season.

Chris caught this Silver Bass. We caught a couple more that evening but they seem to have a disease.

We released all of the fish we caught. Do any of you fish?

Bloomin' Tuesday!

Whoops! We forgot to post this morning before we started our busy day.

Our white Primrose doesn't have many blooms, but the ones it has are nice and big.

Our Tulips are finally starting to open. We thought we would have more blooms than we do. The ones that are open look very healthy.

Our pink Primroses have gone crazy. This picture is of one plant.

Eagle Spotting!

This week, a friend of ours told us about an eagle's nest he saw and thought we would want to go take pictures. Chris and I went to find the nest today. The nest is on an old telephone pole in a swamp area. It has to be at least 4 feet wide. We got as close as we could to get pictures. Since the sun was so bright and the eagle was flying so fast, we didn't get great pictures. It is an amazing thing to watch in person. I'm sure we will go back to see it again, and maybe even take a video of it.

We Like It!

At Christmastime, we hung THIS window over our mantle and decided that we really liked the look of it. Since we liked it so much, Laurie looked for spring or garden stitcheries to do to replace the snowmen.

She finished up the last one a couple of weeks ago. We got them changed over and hung the frame back up.

We also changed out the mantle decorations so it would look more like Spring.

We haven't decided if we are going to change it again for Summer, but we have found some Autumn patterns that we like.

Easter Surprise!

This may look like an ordinary chocolate Easter egg to most of you, but it is a special Easter egg to me. Every year for Easter Dad would get us kids an egg from Peterson's Candies in Busti, NY. Chris remembered this and went to Peterson's Candies a couple days before Easter with out me knowing. He bought this peanut butter egg to surprise me with on Easter Sunday. He definitely surprised me. I only cried a little bit after opening it. : )

Easter Crafting!

We decided to make Easter candy this year for our our nieces. We had all of the molds just sitting in the basement and decided we might just as well get some use out of them. Some of the molds were Chris's moms and some were Laurie's grandmas.

We made these little Easter baskets for the girls out of card stock, a couple brads and some ribbon.

We needed something to put the homemade chocolate in.

Jerzie gave us an Easter basket on Sunday. She was so proud of herself. She colored the eggs with Mommy and Daddy. Click HERE to see her coloring her eggs.

She picked out the eggs she wanted Chris and I to have. Aren't they cute? We got some really cute picture of Jerzie and Payton together. We will post them later this week. We didn't get to spend time with Steph or Alexis this year for Easter. Steph had to work and had dinner with Nate's family, and poor Alexis was sick all day. She didn't even want to look for her Easter basket.

Happy Easter!

We hope you have a wonderful day today with your friends and family. We will be having dinner at Mom's this year with Kim, Tabatha, Jerzie and Payton. Later tonight we will go to Dad and Mom's to celebrate Mom's birthday with her. We will have to post what we made for the girls later this week. We don't want to give it away.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Bloomin' Tuesday!

We had some warmer weather this past week, so we were able to get a couple of spring pictures. The weather man is calling for lake effect snow for our area again tonight :(

We only have yellow and white crocus this year. None of our purple ones came up. It is still early, maybe they still will.

Our new tree that the city planted made it through the winter. We can see some green popping out on it.

Mystery Solved!

We noticed that we have been going through a lot more bird seed this year than we usually do. We really weren't sure where it was all going...

We had seen this little squirrel around, but didn't think it was getting in the feeder. He looks pretty comfortable up there doesn't he?

Then we saw this monster squirrel. It looks pretty sneaky if you ask me.

It is! It jumps up about 5 feet from the ground and lands right in the feeder.

It will sit in there and eat the sunflower seeds until it can hardly move if we don't scare it off.
