Apples!

Mom and I went to our local apple farm on Wednesday and bought all of the apples we needed to make homemade apple sauce. Click HERE to visit the apple farms website.
We came home with 1 bushel of Cortland apples, a peck of Crispin and a peck of Pippins for the apple sauce. Of course we came home with Cider and 1/2 peck each of apples just to snack on.

Today Mom, Tabatha, Jerzie and I made our apple sauce.

We usually use an apple peeler and corer, but the apples were either too big or too soft and we had trouble with the peeler. We had to do it the old fashioned way.

Here is a close up of the apple sauce after we added the sugar and cinnamon.

We always have a bowl of vanilla ice cream with the warm apple sauce poured over it.
Yum-O

Here is the finished product. This should last us for a little while.

Yummmmm, homemade apple sauce! That's something I've never tried making before! Do you freeze it? I can just imagine how wonderful the house smelled while it was cooking!! xoxo

Laurie, those apples look delicious. And there is nothing as good as homemade applesauce. I like to leave it al little chunky too. Good work! You will enjoy all winter.
