Rock City Park!

On Friday Chris and I took a trip to Olean NY to Rock City Park. A friend of mine told us about it. We didn't even know it was there. So, we decided to go check it out.

It is a self guided tour through the woods. They give you a map when you get there and the trails are marked well.

There are a lot of gaps between the rocks that go down 30-40 feet, so you will really have to watch where you are walking.

The rocks are huge.

It took us a couple of hours to get around the trails. We stopped and took a lot of pictures.

Balancing Rock ~ over 1000 tons.

The views were amazing. Most likely we will go back in the fall when the leaves are changing.

If you are claustrophobic there are some areas you will want to avoid.

Indian Stairs ~ Legend says they precede the arrival of Settlers.

The view from on top of the rocks.

You can check out there website by going HERE.

Cool! Bob and I have passed by Rock City several times. Sometimes when we would go to Letchworth, we would go via Portville, NY and stop at Sprague's Maple Farms Pancake House for breakfast. Our route took us right by Rock City. We would always say that we should stop sometime. We never have. I enjoyed looking at your photographs of what is inside Rock City, as you can't see anything from the road.

What a beautiful place! You're right, tho...I might not want to get into those tight places!

Hmmm, I've never been there either. It is very beautiful! I will have to tell my hubby about it (daytrip!).

This looks like such an interesting place. Maybe we will get up that way someday! Love the Faith Hill song. Hadn't heard it yet!
