Letchworth State Park!

Chris and I went on a road trip on Wednesday. It was a 2 hour drive to get there. We took the back roads so it was a beautiful trip. The first picture is what we saw when we got into the park.

They call Letchworth the "Grand Canyon of the east."

We were a little disappointed because they had a storm the day before that made the water very dirty.

We walked down over 127 steps to get to the Lower Falls. There are 3 different water falls, and we saw all of them.

The area is definitely well taken care of and is very beautiful.

It would be worth another trip out in the fall.

We did a lot of hiking along the river, but never got on any of the hundreds of trails into the woods.

We couldn't believe all of the stonework in the park. This bridge is one of the examples.

We even got a couple pictures of a rainbow at the Upper Falls.

Isn't Letchworth a beautiful place! Bob and I have visited Letchworth several times. We are planning another visit this year, most likely when the leaves change color. You have nice photographs posted, even if the water was dirty!

fascinated to see all the sedimentary rock which I think means that the whole area of NY was underwater back in ancient times. ....
