Yesterday morning Laurie got a text message from a friend that is an EMT. She said that LaScala was on fire. LaScala was our favorite restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We had been going there for the past 12 years. Click HERE to see one of our last nights there.
There was an apartment upstairs from the restaurant that the owners lived in. If it wasn't for the cleaning lady coming to work and waking the owners up, who knows what could have happened.
13 area fire departments responded to the call, but the building was a complete loss.
We are both going to miss our anniversary dinner there. Click HERE to read more about this story.

Oh Dear! That is sad indeed :( Those poor owners
I feel for the owners - I am sure they are thankful to the alert cleaning lady for their lives but it must be heart wrenching to see your livelihood devastated like this.
Oh no, how very sad indeed! Nothing worse than seeing a favourite place go up in flames. Thank God that cleaning woman was able to save the owners' lives by waking them up when she saw the smoke!! It also had to be scary for those two firefighters who got trapped inside the burning building. xoxo
Oh, that is sad. I hope you are able to make a new tradition. LaScala is the name of my wedding silver pattern.
