A Day Well Spent!

Because I have to work this weekend, I had to take today off or I would be working too many days in a row. I usually have the weekend off but because of Mothers Day, I am working. So Chris and I decided it would be a good time to do a little shopping.
We drove to Warren, Pa. to the closest Lowe's we have. We have a Home Depot in our town but we really don't care for the way you are treated there. (Sorry Uncle John)

We looked at and priced cabinets. We picked the ones we like. We just have to figure out what cabinets we need to do the layout we want.

When we looked at the demo kitchen with the cabinets that we liked, they had this counter top set up with it. We really thought it looked nice, but we are not sure if it will look OK in our kitchen.

We looked at lighting too. We are debating on what we want still. We were looking at this light. Chris put in the new electric and wired it so we could have 2 lights over the sink. We aren't sure if we want something like this or if we want sconces. We also looked at ceiling lights and lights for under the cabinets. We made our decision on the flooring. Both of our minds were spinning when we left Lowe's. We didn't buy anything today other than insulation. Chris is hoping to get all the drywall hung by this weekend.

We ran a few other errands today. We did have enough time to go out for a late lunch before we picked up our niece.
We had her for a couple of hours before we had to drop her off at grandmas house.

Your neice is so cute! It's a lot of work picking out things for the new kitchen. We did just what you guys are - went around to as many kitchen places as we could looking for ideas. I've got most of my ideas firmed up - now we just need the time. (Thinking with the stucco project, kitchen is on the backburner until next winter - but I'm okay with that!) It's fun to see your project in progress.

It's so hard to make a decision when it comes to buying everything you need when you remodel a room! I remember when we redid out kitchen...my head was spinning! lol Such an adorable picture of baby J trying to catch the bubbles:-) xox

Don't be sorry for feeling that way, many people do. I hear it when I answer the phones there. I never did hear back about Chris taking a vacation from the really hard work by doing my kitchen when yours is done. Uncle John
