Answer to "What the Heck" !

Since our friends and family that we see daily are going crazy asking what "What the Heck" is, I guess it is time that we tell you / show you "What the Heck" it is.

Ann said... I was going to guess a dead bees nest. Is that it? I never find such interesting things. I do have some new growth coming up in my flowers. Hurrah!

Tracey said... You mom was right...this is definitely something I would have on my blog, lol! I'm not seeing any creepy spider legs sticking out, but it must be related to bees in someway. Anxiously awaiting the answer!

When shoveling the front steps, Chris must have thrown it in the garden not knowing it was under the snow.

Tree!

We got our tree! We don't know what kind of tree it is. The city workers didn't leave that information for us. They just left a general care tag. We will have to wait for it to bloom.

It isn't in the same spot, so we aren't sure what they are going to do about the stump. We will have to wait for a little while and see if they come back. It won't be fun to hit that with the lawn mower!

All of the stakes are still in the yard and we don't dare take them out.

Update about Dad... Dad has a very busy week this week. He has a lot of tests and blood work to see if he has to have a third round of chemo. He is doing a lot better with his "Chemo brain".

What The Heck?

While I was walking my gardens the other day I saw this!

I had no idea what it was.

(It took me a minute or two but I figured out what it is now.)

Could it Be?

Are we really going to get a new tree to replace the one that the City killed last winter? (not the winter that just passed, the one before that)

When we came home on Tuesday we found this in our yard.

Do you like they way they marked up everything?

I can't wait to see how long this takes.

I hope they know that they have to plant more grass seed when it gets a little warmer.

He Did It!!

On our way home yesterday we stopped so Dad and Sharon could eat something. He was doing a lot better than he did the first time out. He didn't look as tired. He was even laughing and picking on himself about little things, which is a good thing. He said he was ready to shave his head, so I called my brother when we got home. I asked him if he thought he could do it. He shaves his friends heads in the summer. Of course he said Yes!

He couldn't believe he was doing it. To tell you the truth, I couldn't believe he was doing it. Dads hair always had to be perfect.

It really didn't seem to bother him.

Kim seemed to have a good time. I think in a way it made him feel closer to Dad.

I probably shouldn't have put this picture on, but it made me laugh. He was looking for a hat to wear and he came out of his room with this hat on. There is a family story about an orange hunting hat that I will have to share with you sometime soon.

If Jerzie only knew how bad her grandpa needed that hug and to hear her say "Love You" today. That smile on his face says it all. We all had dinner together before Kim cut Dads hair. I really think he needed all of us today. He had a good day! He even had us laughing so hard that we were crying!!

Coming Home!

We are going to get Dad today. He had to stay a little longer this time. He had a really hard time this time. They say he has "Chemo Brain" which isn't fun. He did some things that if he new he did he would crawl in a hole. He doesn't remember doing any of them and we aren't about to tell him. Sometimes you have to keep a secret. He gave the nurses a hard time but the nurses told Sharon that it is very normal behavior in cancer patients that are receiving such a high dose of chemo. We hope that he feels more relaxed when we get him home. He has to get a shot today, then he doesn't go back until Friday for blood work. Please keep them in your thoughts!!
