Curing The Smoker!

We finally got a nice day that we were staying home that the wind wasn't blowing and there was no rain. So Chris decided it was time to get the smoker out and cure it. He had to rub the whole inside with cooking oil first, then put in charcoal and add wood as needed.
He let it burn for 3-4 hours so it should be good and ready for some meat. I can't believe he hasn't made jerky in it yet.
While doing other things inside, he made sure the fire stayed lit.

When I bought him the smoker I also bought him a smoker cook book that has lots of rubs and good recipes in it. We will have to let you know what he makes first.

You know I'm not a big fan of smoked stuff but I am anxious to taste something from the smoker (as long as it isn't deer!) Mom

Nice smoker, my husband needs to see this post. He loves to smoke anything from ribs to chicken. I love a brisquet, great flavor. Keep us in the loop what he makes first. :)

Can't wait to see what you cook in this. We have a favorite BBQ place that has delicious smoked meats.

Mr. B smokes too - as a matter of fact, he has 2 smokers! Love the background - but these old eyes have a hard time seeing your text - is it just me? Sorry - but I LOVE the photos!
