I don't get them very often, but I had to take one off this week. Since my department is floral, I have to work the weekend for Mother's Day. We can't work more than six days in a row, so today was my day off. What does a person who isn't used to having a day during the week off do all day?
I went through the Wendy's drive through for lunch and then drove to a near by park to eat. I had to stay in the car because it was way too windy. The lake wasn't very calm today. Then I ran to the mall and found nothing that I was looking for. As I was driving I kept seeing these pretty pink trees, but there was no where I could stop to take pictures.
I got a brain storm.
I went to the cemetery. (Yes Mom I went to the cemetery!!) When my brother and I were young we went to the cemetery all the time. We went there while mom was giving a very special lady in our lives a perm and cleaning her house for her. Auntie Phy (We really weren't related, but they treated us like their own) was crippled due to having arthritis so bad that she didn't get out much. Uncle Mif would take Kim and I to the ice cream shop and then drive around the cemetery with us. He always had great stories to tell.
Uncle Mif and Auntie Phy have both passed away, but it was really weird how the memories of them came back to me while driving around a cemetery.
I got some great photos. I believe most of them are Cherry trees of some kind and a few are Dogwoods.
I'm not sure what this one is but it was very fragrant.
I have some more photos to show you, but decided to show all the pink trees today.
I also took pictures of white trees.
I hope you had a nice day like I did.

I love how you focused on all the beautiful pink blooms in this post! Sounds like a peaceful fun day. We all need more days like this!
hugs!
beautiful flowers...I love cemeteries.
How beautiful!
enjoy your weekend
I enjoy going to the cemetery now and again. It is so peaceful and beautiful there. Thank you for sharing your pictures. The flowers and trees are so pretty.
What lovely pictures of gorgeous trees! I think the one without leaves and the big pink blossoms might be a magnolia. It's such a coincidence to read about you going to the cemetary today. I spent a few hours raking and helping with cleanup at the cemetary near us where my husband's grandparents are buried. So many stories and memories are there. I hope it wasn't too crazy at work this weekend!
