Mom and I went to a garage sale a couple of weeks ago and she forgot to post about what she bought until Wednesday. Well guess what? I forgot to post what I bought also. Click HERE to see what mom bought.
I thought this would be a really neat planter. It was marked $10.00. When I went to get it, the guy that was taking the money said how would you like tomorrows prices? It's close enough to tomorrow. I got it for $7.00.
I measured it when I brought it home so I could find a pot for it. It is a 15 inch circle and it is only 8 inches deep. The first pot that I brought home I hated so it went back to the store.
Then I found this pot. I love the shape and color. It is a little too small around.
So I had to ask Chris to rig something up for me so that it didn't look funny. After we get it rigged and a plant put in it I will take some more photos. Chris thinks he should take it to work to sand blast it and put powder coat on it to make it look new. I think it should stay the way it is.
What do you think?
Stop by Bits and Pieces today. We added a few new items.

You know what I think! Keep it rusty. You didn't say that I didn't get the tomorrow prices and I paid after you!
I agree, Keep it rusty. It has that retro/vintage look which is in right now! I like the blue pot too.
Tell Chris it would be a crime to sand and powder coat it. I say so. It is delightful just the way it is.
Hi Laurie! Great find you have! ROFL at the comment you left for me on my blog. Suuuurrrrrreeee! "Lurkers" are welcome to join in on the drawing. Nice to meet you! I think you have visited before though so that would not make you a lurker. ha ha.
xo,
Becky
PS: Love that song! Great movie and LOVE Hugh Grant! Yummy with a spoon!
I love it just the way it is so majority rules! hehe I love the detail on it and that planter certainly is perfect with it!! I'm still giggling at your mom's comment about her not getting tomorrow's price! lol xox
Great deal on the planter. It looks great rusty. Over here rusty ornaments in the garden are in fashion. BTW lovely blue pot too!
i like it just the way it is!
I LOVE that table/plant stand. It would fit in with all of my stuff perfectly! ;)
I vote for leaving it the way it is (but when I first got into the rusted metal, Mark ((aka Mr Perfectionist))would have voted with Chris!) - it's a very popular look right now, and if you want to paint it later you can. The blue pot is very pretty - can't wait to see it all planted!
(And what a steal - lucky you!)
I love it just the way it is.
If you paint it, then you will have to keep doing so as the new rust appears.
Leave it rusty and you will save time and effort and it looks great!
