Peafowl!

The term peafowl refers to the two species of birds in the pheasant family. The male is called a Peacock, the female a Peahen.

Click on the pictures for a close up.
We took these pictures of an Indian Blue Peacock last Saturday.

The colors are so bright and amazing.
He wasn't too sure about us at first, but after a few minutes he came a little closer to us.

The tail feathers are really neat to look at close up.

These two females were a little more curious and came over to see us. They are such beautiful birds. We had to share the pictures with you.

We've been back a few days and I sure have a lot of catching up to do on your blog. The peacock photos are terrific and the emu. Congrats on your award!

Great photos. We saw some gorgeous peafowls like these at the LA County Arboretum in Los Angeles a few years ago. They're fun to watch as they strut their stuff!
