What a Difference Already

Thursday when I came home from work this is what a saw...
Paint on the walls!!
We went with a pretty light color. We have a lot of green and ivy pieces that we really didn't want to get rid of.

Chris also put up one of the new light fixtures.
Saturday when we got up, we started (after breakfast around 9am) working on the upper cabinets. The way the first one went up I wasn't sure if we would get them all done or not.

Chris is measuring to make sure that everything is straight. The first one is the most important. Chris had to hook up some electrical stuff so this wall took a little longer than we thought it would.
The first one is up.

This is a puck light for under the cabinet. We have two on this wall. Instead of having all kinds of switches, Chris "hard wired" them in. There is one light switch for both of them, and no wires showing.

Here are photos of the other wall we worked on. The microwave will fit in where the hole is over the stove. The cabinets really didn't give us much trouble. We took about an hour and a half break for lunch and to visit with my father and his wife. We finally sat down for dinner at 7:30 PM.

We are very happy with the way they have turned out so far!!

We missed my Aunts birthday party on Saturday since we were working on the kitchen. Sorry Aunt Cindy. Today is her 60th Birthday.

Happy Birthday!!

Thank you for all of your birthday greetings.

I had a very nice RELAXING day.
(with lots of surprises)

I remember what a huge job that was for us. We had thirty five cabinets to install!

How I LOVE that paint colour...such a happy warm kitchen you will have! The cupboards are looking gorgeous and the wood tones are really picked up beautifully by the walls. Great job guys, you're almost there:-) xox

It looks like things are coming along very well!
I'm guessing that those cabinets have the notched handles? the only regret I had about mine was 9 years and I never did get drawer pulls or handles on the cabinets :(
Happy Birthday to your Aunt!
:)

Your cabinets look so good on those nice yellow walls!

I bet it was so exciting to see the first one go up. I remember when we did it. Every day was exciting.
