Bloomin' Tuesday!

We have two Spirea bushes at the front of our house that are almost in full bloom. They are on both sides of our front steps.

A walk around the neighborhood.

The wild roses are in bloom. I love that a wild plant gives off such a wonderful scent.

We aren't sure what kind of plant this is. The seed ball is about the size of a baseball.

This tiny white flower is no bigger than your pinkie finger nail.

Here is a different type of Daisy. They are about the size of a quarter and the petals are very thin.

What was that noise???

Last Saturday while Chris and I were running a few errands we heard this awful noise when he stepped on the brakes. We were hoping something was just sliding around in the back. We turned off the music and the AC and rolled down the windows. Sure enough it was the coming from the back area of the car.

When we got home Chris took the back tire off to see what he could find. He found that the brakes were worn down to the metal. If he changed them now they wouldn't ruin the rotors. So he made some phone calls to see who had them in stock.

We went and got the new brakes. We got home and Chris was all set to change them. Next thing I knew he was back in the house making a phone call. They gave him the wrong brakes. Back to the store he went.

With all of the running around, he got the brakes done in a couple of hours. Thank God he knows how to do all this stuff or we would be in a lot of trouble.

Bloomin' Tuesday!

We went for a walk the other night and these daisies were growing in our neighbors yard.

I had to stop and take a few pictures of them.

Daisies are one of my favorites.

While walking my gardens I spotted this columbine hiding behind the downspout on our house. I thought I had lost it. I don't remember it blooming last summer. I will have to make sure I get some of the seeds this year.

Our chives are in full bloom. This little guy was hungry.

I thought I would show you pictures of my birthday gifts today. Mom really surprised me again this year for my birthday. She got me this piece of art work from Baumcat. Mom had it professionally framed for me. When I opened it, I told mom that I thought I had left a comment on Baumcats blog about this piece. I went back to her blog and this is what I found.

I got these cute dolls !

In this box is a pretty shirt, a goofy charm for my charm necklace and a dragonfly for the garden.

I got a vanilla carmel candle, a Happy Birthday coffee cup and a very special tea cup passed down to me.

I got this really neat bird feeder too. I can't wait to put it out and see what kind of birds come to it.

I also got a cover for my Kitchen Aid that I have been wanting. As you can see, I was spoiled as usual. Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes.

Bloomin' Tuesday!

Here are some flower pictures we took on our trip to the Erie Zoo.

The Allium were in full bloom. They looked so pretty against the ferns.

This Clematis was also in full bloom.

We couldn't believe how big the flowers were on this plant.

There were hanging baskets all over the park as well. It looked so pretty.

Much Better!

This past weekend we decided it was time to clean in front of our second garage door. When we moved into our house we only had a one car garage. We built a two car garage in the same spot the one car was. So we have no drive way in front of the second door.

This seems to be where we put all of our yard waste, rocks we aren't using anymore, extra mulch and dirt. What a mess we made.

We got all of the rocks dug out and put in the truck. Then Chris tried to shovel all the other stuff up by hand. We waited too long and it was very hard.

So he gave his father a call and borrowed....

His rototiller. So much easier than digging by hand.

It just took a little raking and shoveling. We put a lot of the soil into a raised bed we weren't going to use, but changed our mind.

The area in front of the door looks so much nicer now and so does the back yard.

We will have to dig it out again when we have the time to get the diseased tree in the backyard cut down. Then we will be able to add gravel so one of us can park there.
