A Difficult Day!

Dad's courageous seven year battle with cancer ended today. He passed away peacefully at noon with his family by his side. We all got the chance to tell him goodbye and that we love him. He was in no pain.
Goodbye Dad
We love you and miss you already.

I've just come back from being away for a few days and didn't realize things were so bad with your dad. Please accept my sincere sympathy, you are all in my prayers. I'm glad you were able to be with him when the end came. xoxo

I found this today and wanted to share - please forgive my posting twice-

The Peace of Wild Things by Wendall Berry-

"When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,

I go and lie down where the wood drake rests his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.

I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief.

I come into the presence of still water, and I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light.

For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and I am free."

Love and hugs to all, Colleen

Laurie,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
He still lives through your memories...
the stories of your times together and the lives he enriched really do help heal the sorrow of today.
Take care.
