Smiles From Heaven!

I went out to water last night and got a surprise. A very special tree is in bloom. Every year we hold our breath until we spot the little green leaves coming. This tree is a very special tree because....

It came from Chris's Mom and Dads. It was started from a tree that came from Chris's grandfather. It is in our back yard by our white picket fence.

We just love the color.

Don't forget that you can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

This very special tree is a Rose Of Sharon. Do you have a "Special Plant" in your garden? Click HERE to see Laurie's Mom's special plant.

Laurie, your Rose of Sharon is gorgeous! Aren't the plants that have been given to you by family or friends always the favorites? Mine would be one of my rex begonias from a friend. I'm going to post about the begonias soon.

Hello, I came to you from empress of dirt's blog. I was reading this entry and thinking I have one. I have a pinkish climbing rose that is an offshoot from a rose my great great grandmother had in her garden. Not sure what kind it is but it is really hardy and grows like a weed. It is my most valued treasure in the garden.

I love the color of your rose of sharon. You did a great job taking the pictures with the water drops on the flower. Thanks for sharing the pictures and story.

I cherish my Rose of Sharon too because it came from Bill's mom and made the move with us over 30 yrs ago. Mine is finishing blooming and is a very pale lavender with deep pink centers.
Yours is gorgeous!!

You asked about the flower aquarium my Mom ordered from The Gardener's Supply: http://www.gardeners.com/Flower-Aquarium/default/30-036.prd

I also found this tutorial - it might be fun to try sometime. :)
