New Project!

This is what our dinning room walls look like. Who ever did the texture on them must have used a sponge. The texture is too deep, and very sharp. You can't clean the walls without getting cuts on your hands.
Don't get too close!!! You might get hurt!!! :)

Chris and I emptied the room out on Monday and Chris started working today.

He scraped all the walls down to get the really high peaks off. He is going to put a thin layer of joint compound on next. We still want some texture, so he will have to see what he can do.

We will keep you updated on the progress.

You should've seen the walls in our bedroom at the previous house! It looked similar to yours, except the vertical lines were longer, and some of the pointy peaks were sticking out about 2". I used to dread losing my balance in that room because leaning against the wall was painful!

Good luck with the next coat :)

That looks like quite the job...good luck with it...I love the Irish theme on your blog...very tastefully done. Now those Modge podge plates...I want to make one...the instructions seem fairly easy....do I cut the material to the size of the plate first? And is one kind of material better to use than another?...Easters coming and my niece is due any time now, so that would make a nice gift for babies room....

Happy Tuesday!

smalltown rn~ I cut the fabric close to the right size you can trim it once you put the first layer of MP on the back as you get the fabric wet it will strech so you may have to trim it again. I believe most of the fabric I use is poly/cotton. I found that the lighter color fabrics come out nicer. Have fun!!
