Super Lou

This is the only picture we have of Gram (aka.. Super Lou) and all five of us grand kids. The picture was taken in the summer 1977 or 1978 at Grams house in Portland NY. Gram is holding the two youngest boys. My cousin Geoff is on the left hand side. My baby brother Kim is on the right hand side. I am on the left hand side in front of gram. My cousin Chris is on the right hand side. (We are only 6 weeks apart!) My cousin Missy is in the front.

Gram used to take all five us kids over night for a weekend. We always had so much fun. We could do what ever we wanted. These were the times when you didn't have to worry about your kids playing outside. You didn't even have to lock your doors. Our bikes and skateboards were always on the front porch, and imagine when we got up in the morning they were still there. We played simple games then. We would play for hours. We had a play house in the back yard. We made mud pies and mud ice cream cones. Oh to have an imagination. I sure do miss those times. I also miss gram especially this time of year, although I know you're in a better place. I long to hear that laugh. No one can replace that good old belly laugh of yours.
Happy Birthday Gram!!

I will have a cup of our favorite coffee just for you today.

Laurie, What a beautiful tribute to your Gramma. I'll never forget the Boys nicknaming her Super Lou after her super glue incident! Love ya! Mom
