This used to be what we had at Chris's families house on New Years Day. His Grandma used to make it, and then his Mom. We haven't had it on New Years for a couple of years, so I thought I would surprise him this weekend and make it for him. It.. is Pork Roast and Sour kraut. I cooked the pork roast for a while so I could make homemade gravy. Then I cooked the pork roast in the sour kraut for a couple more hours. (It gives the pork such a good flavor even though I don't eat sour kraut!) We also had mashed potato's, corn (Yes he has corn on his plate. It is under the gravy on his potato's. My brother and father do the same thing with their corn and potato's.) He also had Butter Beans (none for me thanks!) and a biscuit. Chris really seemed to enjoy his surprise. The only question was "WHY DID I EAT SOOO MUCH?"
ANSWER: It was so good honey.
Thanks!!

I'm not a sauerkraut fan, but my husband loves it. The smell is the turn off for me, but your meal looks wonderful.
:)
What a nice surprise! I'm not a sauerkraut fan (I can't even spell it!) either, but the dinner looked great! How VERY nice of you!
Your dinner looks wonderful. I would eat every bit of it. My question is the background behind the plate??

Yummmmy! I never ate sauerkraut until after I got married...my husband is Polish so of course he had to have his sauerkraut with pork! lol I actually learned to love it...especially when you make a white sauce, put the sauerkraut in it and put it over your potatoes!!
