New Years Eve Dinner!

It is our New Years Eve tradition to go out to dinner with my Dad, Sharon, Kim and Tabatha. This year since Sharon just got out of the hospital we decided (on Thursday) to have dinner at our house.
The table is set. The dining room looks a little crowded since our tree is in there.
Most of the food was ready early.

The "men" are cooking the steaks just before we sit down to eat. We had shrimp cocktail, shrimp scampi, a relish tray, salad, a vegi tray w/dip, baked potato's, NY strip steaks, rib eye steaks, dinner rolls and garlic bread. Everyone wondered why they were too full to move after dinner.

Everyone have a Happy New Year.
Thanks for all of your blogs and comments on our blog this year.
Hope to hear from you next year.

Homemade Gift!

Chris and I make Mom a calendar for Christmas every year. This is the one we made this year. We print out the pages from our calendar maker on the computer, Chris takes it to office max to have it spiral bound and then we scrapbook. All of the pictures are pictures we have taken through the year.

We also made one for Chris's Mom and Dad this year. We will post it some time soon.

Santa Baby !!!

We took this picture of Baby J. and didn't tell anyone about it. We had one small problem when we took the picture. Baby J. didn't have any clothes on, SO... she had a little accident on our couch. We couldn't tell her Mommy what happened so poor Uncle Chris took the blame. We told her that he didn't put the diaper under Baby J. fast enough when he changed her.

We made these snowflake ornaments and gave them to Daddy and Mommy, Grandma, Grandpa and Grandma from Baby J. On the back of the snowflake it says "Baby J's First Christmas 2006 picture taken by Uncle Chris and Aunt Laurie"

Old is New Again!

This was one of the gifts I got from my wife this year. It is a replica of an old fashioned radio (with a few modern toys on it). It is made by a company called Crosley. Click here to see all the cool retro things they have.

It has a turntable on the top (It plays records for all you youngsters out there). It also has a dial radio, a cassette player on the side and a CD player.

I have a lot of my Grandparents old records. I have had them for years and really haven't had anywhere to play them. I can listen to them now!!!

Our Christmas Day!!!

We started our Christmas at 6:00 am at our house. We got up and opened our presents from each other.
Then it was off to Moms house. We had our Christmas there with Mom, Kim, Tabatha and Baby J. We had to be there by 8:00 am. As you can see, Baby J. was into unwrapping her gifts.

This is a picture of Baby J. in her Christmas dress that Mommy and Daddy bought for her.

Then it was off to the hospital to visit my Dads wife and bring her gifts to her.

Then it was back to our house to open gifts with Dad, and for him to spend some time with Baby J. We had lunch at our house and Dad fixed a plate to take back to the hospital.

Then we were off to Chris's Dad and Moms. We had Christmas with his family and ate dinner. This is our niece Alexis opening one of her presents.
This is Alexis, Dad and Chris playing Elefun. Butterflies fly out of its trunk and they each have a net to try and catch them.
After we left there, we went back to my Moms to load up all our gifts from earlier in the day. Then we headed back home for a quiet evening.

Christmas Eve!

Grandma bought this dress for Baby J. before she was even born. She looked so cute. She doesn't wear dresses very often. She is in the chair that grandma bought for her at a garage sale. This picture was taken just before everyone got to Moms house.
We had plenty of food!! Everyone brings a dish to pass. We had 13 people this year. We were short 3. My cousin Missy had to stay home. She got the flu. So her and two of her kids stayed home.
MUNCHIES!!
My Uncle and Aunt make homemade korv every year. We always have homemade mac and cheese, scalloped potato's, Jell~o and ham.
FOOD~ FOOD

Baby J. is ready to go home. She is wearing a new snow suit from a friend of Kim and Tabatha's and a new hat from her "Uncle Sammy". Sam is Kim's close friend who doesn't live here anymore but comes home often.

Getting ready for Santa!!

All Wrapped !

This is what our tree looks like before we start delivering presents. We bought for 15 people this year. We didn't have room for our gifts for each other. We had to put them under the other tree. (the scooby doo tree, not the gold foil one)
We went to Mom's today and she was showing Baby J. her tree. She was a little shocked when she grabbed a hold of it.

Tabatha gave Kim his Christmas present today. She made him a poker table. It was a little early, but he was having some people over to play cards tonight. He loved it. It fits over the top of his pool table.

She printed out decals on the computer that had to be ironed on. She made pictures of poker chips with the name of "his bar" on them.

If we don't have the time to blog tomorrow, we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

YES!! It's Gold!

I fell in love with this tree when I was a little girl and the person who owned it wanted me to have it. My dad brought it home to me. I haven't put it up in quite a while, but this year I wanted to put it up.
"Foil trees are coming back you know." This is what I said to Chris when I told him I wanted to put it up. Don't worry it's in the up stairs. Not many people come up here. The Santa in the sleigh was made by my Gram. Every year we fight with it. I think I'm the only one who put this decoration up this year!

The tree has ornaments that my brother and I made. I do believe the bell covered with tin foil my father made.

My Tree's not ugly!!!
I like it. It makes me smile. So you learned something silly about my today! I bet it made you smile!! Please don't laugh at me. :)

Our Stockings!

This is a picture of our childhood stockings. We don't use them as stockings anymore, just as decorations.
This is Chris's stocking. The flap folds down and you fill both legs. Chris's Mom made it for him when he was little.

This one is mine. My aunts mother made it for me when I was a little girl.

I used to carry this one as a purse when I was younger. Old Gram (great grandmother) made it for me.

They are all hanging in our kitchen on pegs over our fridge and stove.

Mouse Village!

My mom bought this mouse village for me a while a go. I think it is so cute. It is on top of our china cabinet.
I painted this picture a few years ago. I think it goes well with the village.

Close ups of the different mice and houses.

I make sure I put this village up every year.
