You saw what ?!?

There is an animal rescue farm on the way to where the guys hunt, and every day they came home they would say "guess what we saw today"? Well this all started a couple years ago. Chris and my brother swore they saw the biggest pot belly pig. Chris drove me past there a couple of times and the pig was never out. So...
We keep saying that the guys are getting up too early and they are seeing things.

On Sunday, Chris said lets go for a ride I have some thing to show you.

These are the animals we saw . Of coarse they saw all different animals earlier when they went hunting. Such as the biggest Turkey they have ever seen. It was at least 40lbs. Only those two have seen it.

The only question Chris had was "Do you believe us now?"

Saturday Night!

We went to Mom and Dads for Dads birthday and to celebrate his retirement.
Last time we were at Mom and Dads, Alexis wanted her hair trimmed but no one had scissors we could use. I brought mine with me. She is four and really hasn't had a hair cut. (just bangs)

So we went into the bathroom and trimmed her hair. She was so excited.

I hope her daddy likes it!! I really didn't take that much off. I just evened it out!!

Then we had play time with Uncle Chris.
Boy does she LOVE her Uncle Chris!!!

Sunset

While sitting at the computer, the room got a pink cast in it. When I looked out the window this is what I saw.

This picture was taken out of a second floor window. There are houses so I really had to zoom in on it.

A final burst of light and color.
A diminishing glow on the horizon.
Encroaching darkness.
Sunset signifies both a beginning and an end.

No Luck Yet!

The guys have been out hunting for the last four days. No one has gotten a deer. I don't know for sure, but I think they might be doing something wrong.

I don't think he is looking in the right spot!!

I know you get up really early, but give me a break!!!!

They all have the "you should have seen the one that I missed" stories.

A grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The turkey is done.

The table is set.
We had dinner at moms this year. We go to moms once every three years. Everyone gets a turn at Thanksgiving and Easter. This year was moms turn.

Daddy is giving Baby J. the juice from a black olive. She also tried a little bit of cranberry sauce. She seemed to like both of them.

Baby J. really didn't feel so well today. She has caught Mommy's cold.
Poor Baby!

We went to Chris's parents for dessert and to visit. Alexis loves to pose every time you pull the camera out.
We hope you had a nice day with your friends and family.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Easy Snack!!

My mother ~ in ~ law made these last year as an appetizer for Christmas dinner.
Chris loves them and they don't take much time.
First you take large "Grand" biscuits (the ones that have layers) and pull the layers apart. You get 3 tarts out of one biscuit. Put them in a greased mini muffin tin.

Then mix 1 can of chopped Artichoke hearts, 1 cup of mayo,
1 cup of Parmesano Regiano, 1 clove of garlic, and pepper.

Place the mixture into the tarts. You are ready for the oven. Bake these at
375 for 10-15 min. until brown.

Now you are ready to serve.

Christmas Shopping

On Saturday while the guys were out in the woods hunting, I decided to go do a little Christmas shopping. I thought that maybe I could find some gifts or at least a few stocking stuffers. I went to a few local, family owned gift shops.

The first one I stopped at was The Viking Trader. It has been in business for over 30 years. They feature Scandinavian (especially Swedish) imports, and have 5 large rooms of other gifts, cards and clothes. They have gardening items, jewelry, mugs, wall hangings, frames, stoneware pottery, toys, plus a Christmas room and a card room.

This one is The Bemus Point Pottery Shop. They feature handcrafted pottery, and have classes available if you are interested.

Then I went to Petals & Twigs

My last stop was The White Picket Fence. They have a variety of gift items from home, kitchen and personal accessories to cards and party supplies, artwork, pottery, gardening gifts, jewelry, purses, baby gifts, books, and toys.

I bought a few things, but can't tell you about them since they are gifts.

Busy Weekend!

Well, our hunters haven't had the best of luck yet this year. The weather has been good for them, although they like a little snow on the ground. They went out yesterday at 5:00AM and got home at 3:00PM. Then they went back out this morning at the same time and got home about 12:30PM. Just in time to watch football and the last Nascar race of the season. My husbands favorite driver won the championship.
YEAH!!! JIMMIE JOHNSON!!! # 48

We had company last night. Baby J. came to visit. Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner and to a movie. We gave them a gift certificate for their anniversary and they got a chance to use it last night.

There is nothing like a happy baby. She did pretty good last night, but don't try to put her to sleep. She doesn't like that at all. She made us laugh so hard last night with all the new noises she is making.

Don't grow too fast Baby J!!!!

Second Half !

Here is the last part of the scrapbook I made for my husband. When I made the album I bought 12x12 paper so I could make matching pages.

This is the weather he really hunts in most of the time. The tag says "Trail Blazer". It is a double tag it has white malberry paper under the green paper.

The Hunter is a paper piecing I made.

Buck Doe is a family joke :)

This tag has the definition of hunting.

The line in the middle has leaf bottoms and says
"Hunt to live... Live to Hunt"

I got this buck from one of his computer game boxes.

The saying says "Hunters will do anything for a Buck"

This is a scan of Chris's Grandfathers compass. He can't use it any more because the water evaporated out of it, but it means so much to him.

Also a scan of the compass.

The tag says "Hunting"

Spotting
We go spotting a lot this time of year.
I hope you enjoyed Chris's album. Opening day of shot gun season starts on Saturday in our area. The men in our family are getting very excited!
